Letters to Norah // 15 months
Has your grandma shown you the tulips, lilacs, and irises as they bloom? She always had a green thumb, so I can only imagine the magnificent garden she has in heaven. I’m sure she’s showing you how to plant and grow anything your little heart desires, and I bet you’re having a great time playing in the dirt. I can see her now, teaching you how to enjoy the sun, but not without lathering you in sunscreen first. If your grandma is in heaven, so is some sunscreen – has anyone checked her fanny pack?

As I listen to the spring rain wash away the remnants of winter, I think about how the chaos of the last two years is just beginning to slow down. Not that life is less busy, in fact quite the opposite is true. Instead of doctor’s visits or funeral arrangements our schedules are beginning to fill up with, well, life. And it's good.
Letters to Norah // 13 months
Happy Easter, baby girl! I can’t even begin to imagine what the Easter celebration is like in heaven. Do you do paint eggs? Is there a huge meal? Please tell me peeps aren’t allowed in heaven, because… just no.
Happy Birthday Norah // One Year
Oh my sweet girl, today you are one!
365 days ago, we were dreaming of your first year – of getting to hold you, teach you, and eagerly watch you grow – smiling as you learn and explore the world around you.
That did happen, Norah, except you weren’t the one being held, taught, or loved on.
We were.
My darling, what a year you have given us.
Letters to Norah // 11 months
Time is truly incredible, Norah. One year ago your daddy and I were praying for time to slow so we could keep you safe in my belly, while also eagerly anticipating holding you in our arms for the first time.
We enter this February again filled with trepidation and anticipation.
Letters to Norah // 10 months
You’re in the double digits now, sweet girl – ten months old today! It’s hard to believe we’re only two months away from your first birthday.
Today also marks the beginning of a new year — a year we had hoped you would see.
